In addition, 2009 saw the publication of her book Your Life, Your Voice, a project which engaged the most well-known Polish women – from the worlds of business, the arts, the media, and the sport. Over 30 women talked about their important life decisions, about love, about friendship, about what’s important in life, and about what they enjoy and what they dream of.
Magda Mazur and Paulina MĹynarska-Moritz talked with Kayah, BoĹźena Batycka, Teresa Lipowska, Anna Ibisz, Dorota Wellman, Kazimiera Szczuka, Natalia Kukulska, and Magda Gessler, and others.
Lidia Popiel recorded all these meetings in black and white photographs, and today at Klub Pauza at 7 pm she'll be talking about women behind and in front of the camera, and the circumstances surrounding the book's creation.
Also today, we’d like you to join us for the Photographic Thursday meeting at the International Cultural Centre: Helena Postawka will be talking about modernity in the photography of architecture of the interwar period. Looking at photographs by Le Corbusier, László Moholy-Nagy, and other famous avant-garde artists, she will try to answer the question of what modernity was for the Bauhaus architects, who frequently photographed their own works. What did they do to emphasise the modern character of the buildings they photographed? Did modernity mean just driving in cars and using other technology, or was it related to a revolution in life and thought? To find out the answer, come and join us today at the International Cultural Centre.
