MAY MAGAZINE
The Experimental Section is the part of the programme where the organisers are interested in new ways of developing contents and presenting them at the Festival. Following the entirely interactive exhibition shown at Bunkier Sztuki in 2012, the second edition of this section will take the form of a printed magazine. Invited to take part in the project are specialists working with fashion in their daily working lives. The result of their work will be the 200-page May Magazine, featuring articles, illustrations, visual essays and photo sessions. May Magazine will represent an artistic reflection on work and the sensitivity of people associated with fashion, and provide a contribution to thinking about Polish lifestyle as a whole. “Our inspiration was the first Polish lifestyle magazine, Ty i Ja [You and Me],” says the magazine’s editor Karolina Sulej.
Among those who worked on the magazine were Philip Niedenthal from Harper’s Bazaar, MikoĹaj Komar from K MAG, Janusz Noniewicz from the Fashion Department of Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts, fashion critic Marcin RóĹźyc, vice-editor of Przekrój magazine Hanna Rydlewska, producer, manager and fashion show organiser Anna Ĺťurawska and photographer Zuza Krajewska. Raphaëlle Stopin, artistic director of the Hyères International Festival of Fashion and Photography, took the role of project mentor.
